Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1.5 tsp active dry yeast
- 1.5 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
- Olive oil for coating
Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 1.5 tbsp salt, 1 packet of yeast, and 1 tsp sugar. Stir to mix the dry ingredients. Gradually add 1 1/2 cups of lukewarm water, stirring until a sticky dough forms. You may need to use your hands to combine everything thoroughly.
First Rise: Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Coat with Olive Oil: After the dough has risen, drizzle some olive oil into the bowl and gently turn the dough to coat it with the oil.
Second Rise: Transfer the oiled dough into a well-greased baking dish (such as a loaf pan or a round dish). Let the dough rise for another hour, uncovered.
Bake the Bread: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the dough has completed the second rise, bake the bread in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
